The Journal of a Spiritual Seeker, Opening to What's Next
Hello Seekers,
If you reflect back on your spiritual journey thus far, what is revealed to you? How have you prepared for this moment in time, and what tools have you gained as a result of everything you’ve experienced in your life up to this point?
Today’s message is a bit different. It came from tuning into a pocket of energy on the ethers that my teacher identified and encouraged me to explore. The pocket would be open for a limited amount of time, she said, and there were things I could learn. So I did tune in, but first I asked Ahramein what he could tell me about it. “It is a place of knowledge,” he said, and it occurs to me now that there are so many different places of knowledge along our spiritual paths. Each one is an opportunity that presents itself to us in different forms at different times when we’re ready to learn what it has to offer. In this message, this pocket revealed some of the issues around self-worth and self-love that were really sticky for me at the time (and still are, honestly).
Ahramein’s point — that this opportunity was open to me because of the work I’d done in preparation — is true of all the opportunities that present themselves to us on our spiritual path. Everything we learn is built on what we’ve learned before. Each chance we get to move onto and into what is next is because we’ve taken steps along our path. Each gateway presents itself only because we have journeyed towards it.
This is the last post of this first volume of The Journal of a Spiritual Seeker, and it brings us to a natural conclusion, and an expansive beginning. These last 10 weeks have been filled with dozens of steps for each of us, along our own individual paths, that have brought us closer and closer to what’s next. And what is next for you? Do you sense it? Can you feel it? Are you standing in the gateway, ready to find out what this next stretch of your path will reveal?
Thank you all so much for coming on this journey. I hope it’s been filled with an expanding sense of peace, a connection with your own inner guidance and a deepening connection with your own soul’s light. If there’s anything you’d like to share with me about the journey, I’d love to hear from you!
Wishing you so much Light and Love in the New Year,
Jodie

Q and A, Jan. 20, 2018
Me: Regarding a pocket of energy on the ethers that was identified by my teacher:
Ahramein: It is a place of knowledge. It is open to you because of the work you’ve done in preparation. You are tunneling through your resistance — well done! Drop these energies that are holding you back and allow yourself to move forward. You’ve received enough confirmation in 3-D, it’s now time to trust yourself to explore what is out there for you.
From the pocket: There is a place within the soul that holds all our memories and experiences. When this place is awakened, we have access to everything we’ve ever learned. This is true understanding, for it is your soul’s guidance that directs the lives you live and the lessons you learn. This is like a vast library where you’ve already memorized all the books. The information is available, like with a search engine on the internet. If you have a question, you ask, and the answer pops up for you at a moment’s notice. Open yourself to this library, for you’ve already done the work necessary to have access to this knowledge, and in fact, will continue to gain greater and greater clarity as you continue.
This excitement you feel is your soul being happy and glad to share this next level of interface with you. The things your soul has knowledge of are vast and indeed will bring so much light and clarity to your world.
This pocket of energy is a gateway. It’s like a transportation hub — like Grand Central or Penn Station. There are trains everywhere, some lead in and some lead out, to other realms and places where the information revealed will help in many different ways.
Don’t structure your thoughts too intensely, just allow images to help you interpret. Don’t get stuck in them.
Me: I ask Ahramein, why is it so hard for me to let go and write, why am I so concerned about judging it “good” or “bad”?
Ahramein: Because you worry that you will sound stupid. You’re still working to prove something to external judges. This isn’t serving the greater good.
Me: Ok, so in the library of my soul I ask, what have I already learned about seeking outside approval, and how can I incorporate it into my life?
Answer: You must drop this desire for outside approval. It hinders everything you are working toward. Allow the space to open up between you and the life you are about to see. Breathe through the process and don’t close down around the fear and resistance. Just allow the fear and resistance to move aside and allow the Light to flow through. Ask Ahramein and the Light for help. Relax now and allow yourself to go.
Me: I saw an Oliver Twist type of life, I was a street urchin, disdained by people generally, but also invisible. A person who didn’t count. I was sickly and didn’t live long. There was a Fagan-type, a man whose approval and love I sought, and I stole for him and generally did his bidding. He was very abusive and withheld love, but somehow I believed I could gain his approval, if I just tried to do better and be better and do more and be more. But I died in an alleyway, alone and unloved. Uncared for.
The futility of seeking outside approval is exemplified in this boy’s desire to be loved by someone unworthy of that devotion.
Drop doubt and resistance. Just allow.
Me: I WAS doubting this — after all, I said, this is the plot of Oliver Twist — and the Light told me there were many Oliver Twists and Fagans in this world. At the time, this was a common experience Dickens wrote about, so don’t doubt it just because there is a frame of reference to understand the relationship through.
This energy of seeking approval from someone who was never going to approve is similar to what I experienced in this lifetime with my father. Was this “Fagan” my father from this life?
Answer: Perhaps, but it doesn’t really matter. It’s not the karma with that person you’re trying to process, that is already gone. It is the lesson you learned in that lifetime about seeking approval from outside sources — and especially those who are unworthy of your devotion. That child didn’t know any different, but still learned and knew that he was worth more than what life and society had provided. He experienced his own humanity in a very solitary way, without the support or love of anyone around him. He still knew his life had value, for it was his life. He is a part of the wholeness of your soul and your experience as a soul.
It didn’t matter how the Fagan person used him or society ignored him — he experienced his own value, his own humanity, by existing.
Go forward now, and understand and experience your own value, for you have existed and you have experienced many facets of humanity. It allows you to expand in truth and speak in truth things that people need to hear. This is a gift and a beautiful opportunity to share with other people who have experiences similar to yours. As you learn and process and incorporate these lessons, you will be able to share with others how these energies work, and what great benefit there is in allowing them to move through your life (lives).

Exercise: Begin each exercise by grounding and protecting. For more information on how, see this post.
Where are you on your soul’s path? What experiences have brought you to this point? What tools have you gained from those experiences? How has everything you’ve experienced prepared you for what you’re learning now? Take a few minutes to close your eyes and visualize where you are on your path. What do you see or hear? Are you ready to step forward into what’s next? If the answer is yes, take a few steps on this path and notice how it changes and stays the same. What is being revealed to you as you move forward on your journey? What can you sense about what’s next? Allow the visualization to continue as long as it feels complete, and then come out of it and open your eyes. Do your grounding exercise again, and then, if you feel called, write or record what you experienced.

A brief note: This journal and its exercises are simply a means to help you find your own flow. There is no pressure to follow them exactly or read each and every one. It does not need to be read in order either, so if you miss one, don’t feel like you’ve failed or fallen behind. These messages are here to hold space for you as you discover and evolve within your spiritual practice.
This is the first volume of The Journal of the Spiritual Seeker, and I’m presenting it here on The Devic Connection website, serialized over the last 10 weeks of 2020, with weekly roundups via email (you can sign up in the box at the bottom of this page if you’d like to receive these.) If you’ve just arrived here and would like to start from the beginning, here’s the link to the first post.
