The Journal of a Spiritual Seeker, Clearing Old Energies
Hello Seekers,
During the period of time these messages are from, I was doing a lot of work around clearing old energies from my chakra system. My teacher recommended I find some chakra music on YouTube and listen to that for several hours a day. It was interesting how much energy moved during that time, how many old energies came up for healing, and how much I was able to let go of and heal as a result.
Not all chakra music is right for everyone, so if you find yourself wanting to give this a try, find music that feels right when you listen to it. If it’s not the right tones for you, it will feel discordant and listening to it will be uncomfortable, but if it is right, it will feel like there is a flow through and around you. And then get ready for things to move.
We store our trauma — both from this life and from past lives — in our various energy systems, and the chakra system is one of these places where many people are holding trauma. Healing these things is not always comfortable or easy, but for me it has always been worthwhile. Using the music helped to move some of these energies out from their hiding places within these energy systems so that I could heal and release them, sometimes without the analytic functions of my mind.
We don’t necessarily have to get to the root of why we feel the way we do, we can just heal the energy imbalance, and move forward.
(Sidenote: I want to say that I’m definitely not an expert on chakras. Most of what I’ve said here is based on my personal experience, what I’ve learned from reading books and discussing with others who have a lot more knowledge than I have, and a little bit from what I intuitively understand through my connection to the Light. If you’d like to learn more about chakras, definitely search out some good books on the subject!)
Can I also remind you how much I believe can be accomplished by working with the right therapist? When we start to pull out our trauma for healing, it’s important to have our support systems in place and it’s important to seek help when needed. I just had a very helpful chat with my therapist yesterday, and feel much better for it.
I hope you’re all having a peaceful and healing week. Sending lots of love,
Jodie

Message from the Light, Nov. 4, 2017
Chakra work: You are not alone in this work. We are here to help you bring about balance and harmony. Call on your friends in the Devic Realm to come and assist you in this work.
Like the trees, you are strong and solid. You have roots that run much deeper than you even know, and branches that stretch up into the cosmos. Allowing the flow to happen, allowing the Light to clear any and all blockages, allowing the Light to balance and harmonize any and all discordant frequencies will allow for clear channels of light bringing about beautiful balance.
Allow for pain, it creates space, not constriction. It opens your awareness to imbalance, so when you feel pain, ask the Light to flow in and around that space, fill it, clear it, cleanse it, and bring it into perfect balance.
It’s okay to feel uncomfortable as these energies move. It’s normal. Stay with the process. Allow greater expansion to open and allow those energies to be transmuted by the Light.
Don’t judge the process, just allow it to happen.
You feel anxious because very old energies are moving and you’re uncertain about what the change will bring.
We assure you, the change will bring about only good. These energies are no longer serving their intended purpose and have been trapped. They are uncomfortable energies that have caused pain in the past. You’re experiencing shadows — phantom sensations — of their past. Stay with the process. Allow for opening and expansion to take place.
You require grounding and balance in 3-D. This is why you have so many logistical issues in your 3-D life right now, because it will help you balance your energy here — bringing the Light all the way through. That is why these other concerns are coming up as you do this, because handling them is a part of this lesson.
Allow space to bring balance into your life in 3-D. Your first and second chakras will help with this as well. You will be more capable of handling 3-D concerns without experiencing the emotional upheaval you’ve experienced in the past. Let go of these attachments and trust that what you need will be provided.
You will be less tired overall if you’re not wasting energy worrying about what might happen. We have little patience for this wastefulness. Your energy is required in other places, so just do what needs to be done and move on.

Exercise: Begin each exercise by grounding and protecting. For more information on how, see this post.
Can I just take a moment to hold space for how harsh the Light was at the end of that message?! I’m kidding (kind of!). I actually really appreciate the tough love approach when it’s necessary. And I think it lends itself to a useful exercise to go with this post. Ask yourself: What am I wasting time worrying might happen? How much of my time do I spend worrying about what might happen? How do I think that translates to percentage of my overall energy that is spent worrying about what might happen? To what good use could that energy be put if I wasn’t worrying about what might happen? Can I begin to shift this? When I notice I’m worrying about what might happen, can I stop and do something productive instead?
(Note: Productive in this context can even mean resting, which is very productive. It can mean doing something you enjoy, it can mean researching a grassroots organization that is working on an issue that is plaguing your mind and donating to them, it can mean making lists of things that need to be done. Productive is not about outcomes, it’s about moving the energy out of the stagnation of worry and into some kind of positive action.)
Another way I like to address worrying about what might happen is to ask myself this series of questions: “Can I do anything about this right this moment?” If the answer is no, drop the energy. Put the thing on a list if it’s something that can be done later. If the answer is yes, ask yourself, “am I going to do anything about this right this moment?” If the answer is yes, do the thing. If the answer is no, drop the energy. Put the thing on a list, and come back to it later.

A brief note: This journal and its exercises are simply a means to help you find your own flow. There is no pressure to follow them exactly or read each and every one. It does not need to be read in order either, so if you miss one, don’t feel like you’ve failed or fallen behind. These messages are here to hold space for you as you discover and evolve within your spiritual practice.
This is the first volume of The Journal of the Spiritual Seeker, and I’m presenting it here on The Devic Connection website, serialized over the last 10 weeks of 2020, with weekly roundups via email (you can sign up in the box at the bottom of this page if you’d like to receive these.) If you’ve just arrived here and would like to start from the beginning, here’s the link to the first post.
