On looking within to recognize patterns of self-harm

This message from the Devic Collective is from last February, but is particularly timely today. Here in the U.S., as in many parts of the world, we have seen the rise of hatred and oppression, vitriol and mass murder. This message calls us all to look within. When we are living in harmony with our own true light, we honor the light within each other and the many ways in which we are all the same, while also holding space in respect and love for all the ways that we are different.

This message was personal, reminding me of times in my life where I suffered, but also reminding me that this suffering is being transmuted to understanding now. May the suffering of these times be transmuted to understanding, and may we all find ways to honor that process in our lives.

Let go of your ideas of other people and identifying with what they think and feel about you. This search for outside affirmation is misguided and not in service to light.

Even in wanting someone to be proud of you, you ignore your own inner compass, deferring instead to external influences. This harms you and blocks off the flow of light coming through you.

Do not judge yourself (or others), for in so doing you are creating a negative charge. It’s self abusive, like harming your physical body would be. You understand this concept because, in your desire to release and be free, you used to mistakenly believe self-harm would serve this purpose. It did not, and you were stopped from continuing this process by your inner knowledge of truth.

However, it was important — and will prove to be helpful — for you to understand this belief system and pattern of behavior. So many souls are in the process of learning about self-harm, and the darker voices that will lead them to believe this is the way to achieve freedom. They do not have the benefit of understanding that even then was inherent in you, so they will need more assistance in breaking out of these patterns and raising their consciousness.

When people excel at self-harm, it makes it even easier for them to justify harming others.

This understanding lends perspective to how people become so nasty with one another, and how they so easily turn against other human beings and allow atrocities to take place around them.

Complicity lies in a root of self-harm and degradation. In hating oneself, in denying yourself the means to recognize and understand your own humanity and your own connection to light, you shut off the function of seeing that — recognizing commonalities — in others.

This is how people enslave others, deprive them of their rights, murder them, abuse them and generally fuck everything up. It is the root of disharmony, and it has been fostered in humans for much of their history.

Technology and access to mirrors — both literal and metaphorical — has only amplified the chorus of self-harm energy, because if people are not very careful and very aware, they can be consumed by this energy, which is pumping out of every speaker every day, all day.

There is an underlying energy of self-doubt in almost everything people consume right now. It is targeted and manufactured to sow discord in this world, and it is doing a very good job.

You are beginning to see where you fit into this. Allow this knowledge to work its way into and through you. Know it, so that you will have a context for how you can help going forward.
