Live Joyfully, With Light in Your Heart
Hello Friends,
I’m really happy to share the light of this message with you. It feels more important than ever to be reminded, as my Uncle Don says here, to “live joyfully.”
Uncle Don left the Earth realm on the last day of 2018, and pretty immediately made his presence felt all around us. But as for direct communication in words, it’s mostly been me saying, “I miss you,” and him answering, “what for?” He thinks it’s quite obvious that he’s right here with us, and this whole idea of being missed really doesn’t seem to resonate for those who have moved on to what’s next. So it was the most pleasant surprise recently when I sat down to tune in and write and he came through, ready to share this message with me.
To give just a little context, Uncle Don was always full of life and love. He’s my great-uncle, and Mom tells stories from her childhood of how much time he spent with her and her siblings, and how much fun he was. Circumstances provided Mom and I the chance to help Uncle Don and Aunt Roe at the end of their lives, and it was a joy, honor and privilege to spend their last few years with them. As he and I discuss in the message, my health issues made it challenging in different ways to do what I did for them, but it was a labor of deep love, and as such, was always joyful even when it was hard.
There are a lot of stories about Uncle Don’s zest for life, but I’ll share just one of my favorites here: One year the whole family came to the town I lived in for a birthday celebration for one of my aunts. The bar where I worked set the whole family up on the back deck for dinner one night and at the end of the meal, for some reason someone started throwing ice at someone else. Suddenly my enormous family was engaged and Uncle Don, already somewhere around 80 years old, was right in the middle of the fuss, laughing and playing like one of the kids.
He brought the Light everywhere we went, even when the only place we could go was the cancer center for his treatments. When he died, he’d been living in an assisted living facility for about 5 weeks, and several of the staff members he’d met made a point to tell us what he’d meant to them. In just that short time, he’d managed to make them all feel like old friends. He knew their names, asked about their families, and even on the worst of days, managed to smile and joke with people in such an uplifting way. It was an honor to share life and time and love with him, then and still.
Here’s this message from Uncle Don, delivered with the love and light that is his legacy in my heart,
Jodie

Message from Uncle Don, Jan. 28, 2021
Live joyfully, with Light in your heart. That is the flow for you.
You are not your pain or your trauma or your limitations. None of that matters to who you truly are. When you go forth from that joyful energetic space, you will find you have a lot easier time with the things you are trying to do in 3-D.
There were a number of things holding me back in life, but ultimately nothing held back the flow of light and love I shared with those around me, because I didn’t identify with any of those limitations or over-indulge in any sense of feeling sorry for myself. I just moved on and through life in ways that appreciated what it had to offer — the many, many joys it provided. This is a part of your make-up as well, this ability to find and see the light everywhere you look. And this is a space you can share with people.
You are right, people are suffering pretty intensely, and meeting them in that space to show them that, even here there is light — that is a part of your calling.
You can do it. You feel overwhelmed still and overwrought. But those are blockages from old energies.
When you need to — like you did with us — nothing stops you. Granted, you have to do things in balance and with care for your physical form, but this reminder of what you were able to do for us is to show you the energetic significance of what you can accomplish when you allow the flow.
Me: I was exhausted and depleted though …
Uncle Don: You were, so now it’s a matter of recognizing how to take care of yourself in that same way you took care of us and Little and the cats while doing the things you feel need to be done.
This is why I’m the one to come through to remind you today.
Me: Thank you. ❤️

Exercise: Begin each exercise by grounding and protecting. For more information on how, see this post.
Look for the Light. Make a list every day this week of five places you’ve seen and recognized the flow of Light in your life. At the end of the week, spend a bit of time reflecting on your lists and, if you feel called, write or record anything you notice about your week.
