A Message in Multiple Metaphors

When I read over this message, I had to laugh at myself a bit. The Light has been really working to get this through to me, and I required multiple metaphors to overcome my resistance. Perhaps a few of them will help you this week, too!

What is still holding you back? For me, it's a fear of the unknown combined with a self-limiting belief that I am not ready yet. This linear thinking needs to be released, for growth is not aspirational. Expansion is infinite. The more I learn and grow, the more I have yet to learn and grow. So why not let go into this acceptance of what is, where I am now, and embrace what I have to share from here?

How many metaphors does it take for you to face what has been holding you back?

You are ready to move onto and into the next phase of being. It is simple as that — like stepping off a cliff and knowing you can fly. Perhaps you’ve never flown before, but there was a time in your life when you couldn’t walk, and you learned by taking your first steps. It’s certain you fell along the way and you got up and kept trying.

Each stage of growth along the way comes with its pains, its pitfalls, its learning curves. To fail to grow because you’re afraid to fail is a waste of the opportunities you’re being given.

Children don’t find themselves remaining stationary forever because they are afraid they might fall as they toddle along learning to walk. They have not yet had imposed on them these ideas of failure, and adults don’t scold them for not already knowing how to walk. They cheer each step and help them up when they do fall.

So why do you expect yourself to have achieved levels of expertise without going through the necessary experiences to gain that expertise? And why do you chastise yourself for not knowing what you have not yet had the experiences to learn?

These judgements and self-recriminations are not only pointless, they are also harmful to you and those around you, for we are all existing in energetic oneness, so hurting yourself hurts others as well and lends to the collective negativity planet-wide.

Allow yourself to know what you know and to learn what you learn and to grow as you grow. This is how a seed becomes a seedling becomes a sapling becomes a tree. This is the evolution of all living things, and it is expansion into one’s higher self.

You are ready to expand into your higher self, and it is no more challenging than allowing yourself the healing space to grow and learn.

This is difficult to accept sometimes because people want to believe that self-limiting structures exist. Here’s one more metaphor of expansion for today: As goldfish will grow as large as their body of water allows, so too will people expand when they allow themselves the space to grow. Some people seem willing to remain in these tiny bowls of water instead of being free to swim in an entire ocean.

Maybe you’re not ready for the ocean quite yet. Maybe you’re just ready for an aquarium, and then a pond. After that, maybe you’ll swim on to a lake, and perhaps even a Great Lake before being ready to brave the ocean. These stages of life are progress, and there is much to be celebrated in progress and nothing to be judged.

As lightworkers, you need to understand the value in your stages of growth, and how a goldfish in an aquarium can show a goldfish in a tiny bowl that there is much to offer in a more expansive setting. And likewise, the goldfish in the aquarium can look to and learn from the goldfish in the pond.

It is when you fear growth, or even more frightening, when you assume you’ve grown as much as you can, that you become stuck in life. And the physics of this place does not allow for stagnation. The energy will push you to grow, and that is much more uncomfortable than when you approach learning and growth with an open mind and an open heart.

There are many ways to learn, some of them harder than others. Resisting the lesson ensures the force behind the methods of learning will increase to match and overcome the resistance to the lesson, so it behooves you to stay in the flow, follow your guidance and allow yourself to learn from every opportunity you are given.

Here’s a bit of homework if you, like me, do better with an assignment to bring the energy all the way through. Enjoy!

Get centered and grounded and ask within:

  • What self-limiting beliefs are holding you back this week?

  • Where do these beliefs originate?

  • Do you feel them in your body? If so, where?

  • Ask within for a color that corresponds to these energies. Bring a ball of light of that color into the space where you feel these energies. Focus on that ball of light. Allow it to expand out, growing larger and larger until it encompasses your whole body. Allow it to keep expanding, out into the universe, transmuting and dispersing the energies you were experiencing as it does. Keep expanding until you feel the energies have all been transmuted and dispersed as molecules of light.

  • Repeat this visualization as necessary, journaling as you go. Keep track of the energies, where you hold them in your body, what colors are associated with them, as well as any other information that comes up as you do this. The process of observing and recording in this way will help you bring the healing all the way through, and serves to make you more and more observant all the time.

I’d love to hear about your experience with this message, or how these energies are playing out in your life. Feel free to comment here, or on Instagram.
