Releasing Old Energies

Dear Friends,

Let go and let be. This is a fortuitous time for releasing old energies that no longer serve you. Do so in gratitude for the lessons you have learned, and the purpose those energies have served.

Many times, when we have old energies that cling to us in our systems, they are there because, at some point, we needed them. This is particularly true of fear, which often imprints itself on us when there is a reason to be afraid. Like post-traumatic stress, triggers bring these energies of fear to the forefront by reminding us sensorially of a time in our existence when we were afraid. Suddenly, with all five senses, we are back in the time of trauma, without the context or understanding that this is not currently happening. This pattern is especially evident when the energies of fear are coming through from old karmas and past cycles. Without the linear memories of these past cycles, it is difficult to identify the root cause of the fear, and instead we are left with anxiety and a sense of doom that has little or nothing to do with the events of the timeline we are currently inhabiting in 3-D.

This is where our senses beyond the five come into play by developing our awareness of energy, beyond what we can see, hear, taste, touch or smell. To FEEL the energies brings them into our awareness so that we can then identify them. And by observing and identifying, we begin to change them.

I was talking with someone this week who isn’t sure she wants to know specifics about past lives because she’s afraid, as many of us are, of finding out she was less-than perfect in a past existence and maybe caused harm to others. I felt this way for a long time, because I was carrying a great deal of guilt from many different existences.

The likelihood that we caused harm to others at some point over the course of many, many lifetimes is almost guaranteed. Most humans have — it is a part of the duality of the experience here on Earth. For many people, the guilt of this inherent understanding is devastating. But the guilt is there anyway, because these memories are still there. They may not be accessible to most of us in the way our linear, 3-D memories of this current existence are, but they are still there, stored in our various systems and energy fields. So these harmful energies, such as guilt and fear, eat away at us without context.

By facing these energies, bringing our awareness to them and identifying them for what they are — leftover reverberations from actions and events happening in other timelines — we can restore that context and begin to transmute that energy, here in the form we are currently inhabiting in 3-D.

A few weeks ago, one of the people closest to me in 3-D transitioned out of this place. He was my great-uncle and best-friend and I’d been helping him as his caregiver for the past two years. This transition, from knowing him in 3-D to knowing him in a new and different way, has sparked a new understanding for me of life and death.

However, it did not immediately transmute the fear of loss I’ve held onto throughout the course of my lifetimes. In the weeks since he passed, my three elderly animal friends have all been sick, and I can’t say I’ve handled their illnesses with an unflinching peace and acceptance of “what will be will be” in 3-D. While I have a new, experiential understanding of the fact that energy doesn’t die and that the love we share with other beings exists as a permanent part of us, regardless of whether or not we are still sharing space in 3-D, I love these three and want them to stick around as long as possible.

I was told, when my uncle was dying, that the fear we experience in loss and grief is rooted in the love we share with these other beings. And that when we understand this, the fear and anxiety can become an opening to higher frequencies of love and healing, instead of a means of clamping down and closing off our own expansion through Light.

I experience this fear of loss physiologically, so when I experience these sensations and I know they are rooted in an emotional response, I try to remember to look at the emotion, identify its root, and use that as an opening to these higher frequencies.

With my uncle, or now with my pets when they are unwell, I tell myself that this energy is rooted in love, and allow that love to expand in my heart chakra, and neutralize the energies of fear and anxiety.

This is a practice for me. It was not immediate, and does not always remove the physiological sensations or eliminate the fear. But, like the pebble thrown into a still body of water, the effects ripple out, the energy moves and I become ever-more aware of why these energies exist and how to expand beyond them.

If you’re anything like me, lessons are most easily processed with a little bit of homework. If this message resonated for you, and you’d like to go a bit deeper, feel free to use these prompts to contemplate how these energies are playing out in your life.

Get centered and go within. This should be a deeply personal practice, so do whatever makes you feel comfortable and grounded. Then ask within:

What recent experiences have I had that have caused me fear, pain, guilt or any other low-frequency feelings?

Can I identify a pattern within these experiences that speaks to a deeper emotional response than the experiences themselves indicate?

Can I identify what the root of that emotional response is? (If it doesn’t immediately come, stay with the meditation and ask the Light to help.)

Where have these energies manifested in my physical body? Have these feelings been accompanied by any physiological sensations, and if so, what are they?

Next, focus on that part of your body where you are experiencing the physical sensations and picture it as a still body of water.

Visualize a pebble of light in the palm of your hand. This pebble is the love you feel and the light within you. Toss the pebble and visualize it landing in the center of the still body of water, in the center of where you are experiencing the painful manifestations of your emotions. See the pebble of light land, and see the energetic reverberations of light expanding out from center, ripples moving the still water.

Find gratitude for the energies that have presented themselves, for in them you are learning so much about life here on Earth, recognize that they are outdated and no longer serve you, and as the energy ripples out from center, release and transmute these old energies.

In the days that follow, pay attention to these patterns. Has your body changed at all? Remember the ripples of energy anytime you are experiencing these intense emotional responses and work to immediately go into the transmutation process as soon as you recognize the pattern.
