The Journal of a Spiritual Seeker, Resistance and Transmutation

Hello Seekers,

This message feels like a soothing balm today. As I revisit these to share them with you, I’m reminded not only of how much healing has taken place in my life, but also how much there is to come. And for me, the promise of that is exciting. I love learning, and feel the energy of expansion that comes with each lesson in my heart as gratitude.

This week, as I share my struggles with resistance, I’ve been working through them again. Day by day. Recognizing where I still need to bring the Light, and also how far I’ve come. There’s a presence and awareness in this evaluation, without judgement. I’m working very hard to be present with and kind to myself, and be mindful of progress and celebrate the ways I’m still learning. It’s a process.

My dear little cat Beece makes an appearance in today’s message! He’s been gone almost a year now, and I miss his fuzzy little face so much, and it warms my heart to read about him again and remember how helpful he could be at times. He was the prettiest cat I’ve ever seen, and also one of the most demanding! He used to sit on my chest and bump his head into my face repeatedly while I wrote, helping me learn to stay in the flow and not give in to distractions — a very useful lesson, indeed. Sometimes he would lick my chin with his sandpapery tongue and it would be almost impossible to keep focused on anything else. I can’t say I was always very gracious during these lessons at the time, but I am so grateful for every bit of time I got to spend with all my animal friends over the years they were with me.

In honor of the lessons Beece helped me learn, I’ve included an exercise with today’s message to explore the correlation between our resistance and distraction, so I’d be really interested to hear back from you if it helps!

I’m also curious, how have these messages helped you confront your own resistance this week? For me, I’m finding it easier and easier to let go, which is exactly what the Light and my guides promised would happen. I love when it works out that way! If you’re not feeling the resistance fall away, be kind and gentle with yourself and remind yourself that it’s a process, and the first step in the process is often to just look at the blockage. That awareness in and of itself begins to move the energy and kickstarts the healing process.

Message from the Light, Oct. 25, 2017

Resistance is a construct created when a person feels unsafe moving forward. It is a structure, like scaffolding, that permits a person to go to a comfortable place, but only so far. The scaffolding is not needed, however, because you have the capacity and the ability to float up, up, up — far beyond where the construct of this resistance would allow you to go.

So, allow yourself to float up, above the scaffolding. See your feet leaving the structure below you and know that you are safe, for it is Light that allows you to rise above where you are, and Light will protect you from all things.

See yourself floating up in a brilliant ball of white light. Leaving the scaffolding behind and allowing it to dissolve in the light, for it is no longer needed.

Now, float up in the ball of light and see where it takes you.

Stay grounded in light. Trust your grounding.

Me: Beece the Cat got up on my chest at this point and started hitting my chin with his face, which was really quite distracting.

That’s okay, it was a start. Continue to picture your resistance dissolving.

As a function of fear, it is a low-frequency energy and you can rise above to higher frequencies of light.

In these frequencies is the peace you seek. The higher the vibrations, the more peace you will feel, because the energies preventing you from feeling that peace are lower frequencies of fear.

It is not necessary to think of these things as a hierarchy — higher and lower could be substituted for faster and slower if that removes an attachment to good and bad. One is not good and the other bad, it is simply evolution. Once you reach a state of evolution where fear is no longer necessary, those slower frequencies simply change and vibrate faster.

Do not judge the slower frequencies, for they have served a purpose in your evolution. Do not either attach to them, for they are no longer required and are holding you back. Simply detach and release and allow yourself to move into a higher place, which is the next stage of your continuing evolution.

Detach from suffering — for fear is also a construct you believe will keep you from suffering. It does not, as you have seen in this life. It simply compounds your suffering, making it more dense and less mutable. Allow your suffering to dissolve along with your fear.

These higher frequencies of light are vibrating in a more harmonious way and will allow you to change yourself, and the world around you.

Exercise: Begin each exercise by grounding and protecting. For more information on how, see this post.

Be sure that you are grounded and call on Arch Angel Michael for protection and then try out the exercise the Light recommended in this message. Visualize your resistance as something like scaffolding that once worked to keep you safe, but now is no longer needed. Visualize yourself floating up and away from it in a brilliant white ball of light. Allow the old energies of blockages that have been holding you back to dissolve and transmute. See where the ball of light takes you. Notice and take note of what you see and feel. Then, when you’re ready, see the ball of light returning you to Earth, see your feet firmly planted on the ground, and then do your grounding exercise again. How do you feel?

An exercise for distraction: For the next few days, or longer if it feels useful, keep track of how many times you feel distracted during the day. Is there a correlation between your distraction and your resistance? Often, I find if I’m really resisting, I’m very easily distracted! Once you realize your mind has gotten away from you, go back to your grounding and then ask, does that help? Do I feel better once I’m grounded again? If you’d like, keep note of this process, either in a little notebook you can keep nearby or in the notes app on your phone so you can track the frequency of your resistance/distraction cycle, and also how grounding changes how you feel. Does the commitment to grounding help you be less often in the resistance/distraction state?

It does not need to be read in order either, so if you miss one, don’t feel like you’ve failed or fallen behind. Sometimes, things come up in the healing journey that we can’t quite manage by ourselves. I’m fortunate to have people I can call on to help me gain that clarity.
